Thanks everyone for the responses. To answer some questions – yes, I had a contract but it was poorly written with vague completion dates. No, they didn’t send progress photos. When I called to check in around year 2, they gave excuses but wouldn’t let me visit the workspace. I’m meeting with my lawyer next week and I’ll be getting a full assessment of the damage done.
