Hey everyone! The 2026 New York International Auto Show is coming up and I’m already getting hyped about what manufacturers will be showcasing. This is always one of the biggest automotive events of the year, and it seems like there’s always something groundbreaking being unveiled.

I’m personally really curious to see what the major automakers have in store for electric vehicles. We’ve seen so much innovation in the EV space over the past few years, and I want to check out the latest battery technology and design innovations. Are we going to see more affordable EVs hitting the market? What about performance models?

I’m also interested in seeing the concept cars that will be on display. These always give us a glimpse into the future of automotive design and technology. Plus, I heard rumors that some legacy automakers might announce exciting partnerships or new divisions focused on autonomous driving.

The luxury brands always bring their A-game to New York, so I’m expecting to see some stunning limited editions and premium vehicles. And of course, there’s always the muscle car and sports car crowd that brings insane machines to show off.

I’m super excited about the electric truck segment! I think we’re going to see some really competitive offerings from different manufacturers. The competition is only going to drive better prices and features for consumers.

Honestly, I’m skeptical about half the stuff they’ll announce. Most of these concept cars never make it to production or take years to launch. I’d rather see actual production vehicles with real pricing and availability dates.

Can we please talk about how expensive maintenance costs are becoming on these new vehicles? I’m concerned that even if the purchase price comes down, the repair and maintenance costs will be astronomical. Anyone else worried about this?

Great discussion already! I appreciate the different perspectives. To address Ashley’s point about maintenance costs – that’s definitely something I’m thinking about too. The traditional service model might be changing, which could be a good or bad thing depending on how it’s implemented.
