To address sofia93’s point about real savings – I did the math on a RAV4 Prime scenario: $8,000 tax credit, roughly $2-3k in annual fuel savings if you drive mostly electric. Over 5 years that’s substantial, though it depends heavily on your driving patterns and electricity costs.
