The 5000S Turbo deserves its place in automotive history. Whether you agree on reliability or not, you have to admit it was a bold engineering statement. Audi was pushing boundaries with this vehicle.
Acceleration was good, but reliability concerns outweigh the performance benefits. I’d rather drive a well-maintained naturally aspirated sedan from that era than gamble on turbo issues. Just my perspective based on what I’ve seen.
