The Corsa GSe appears to be positioned as a proper hot hatch alternative in the electric vehicle market. Unlike some of the softer approaches we’ve seen from competitors, Opel seems to be keeping performance credentials intact. The testing phase suggests they’re working on getting the chassis dynamics right, which is crucial for a car like this.
Here’s what makes this particularly interesting: Stellantis has the platforms, the technology, and the manufacturing expertise to pull this off. They’ve got Peugeot’s track record with sporty EVs and Opel’s performance heritage. The Corsa GSe could potentially offer better value and European flavor compared to what Volkswagen is doing with the ID. Polo lineup.
