The farmers I know are excited about guaranteed prices, but they’re also realistic. This policy is great short-term, but yes, someone has to pay. And historically, it’s consumers and workers, not wealthy shareholders.
Energy independence is the real winner here. Using domestic biofuels means less reliance on foreign oil. That’s strategically important for national security, which adds value beyond just farm economics.
