Hey everyone, I just found this amazing illuminated Corvette sign on Bring a Trailer and wanted to share it with the community. This is a genuine vintage neon sign featuring the iconic Corvette logo with classic illumination. The condition looks solid for its age, and it’s listed at no reserve, which means it could be a great opportunity to grab a piece of automotive history.

I’m seriously considering bidding on this piece. It would look incredible in my garage alongside my collection. The sign appears to be in working condition based on the photos, though I’d definitely want to verify the electrical components before the final purchase. I’d be careful with this one. Neon signs can be expensive to repair if something goes wrong. The tubes alone can cost a fortune to replace, and finding someone who still knows how to work on vintage neon is getting harder. Just something to consider before bidding.

That’s a cool find! Vintage Corvette memorabilia always holds value. The neon sign looks authentic from what I can see in the photos. Have you checked if all the tubes are lighting up properly? Sometimes these older signs have sections that don’t work anymore.

I actually own two vintage automotive neon signs, and I can tell you that maintenance costs are real. You’re looking at $200-400 per year for basic upkeep and occasional repairs. The transformer can fail, tubes dim over time, and if you want professional restoration work, that’s exponentially more expensive.

Stunning piece! The glow on these signs in person is so much better than in photos. If you’re serious about bidding, make sure you have it electrically inspected before the auction closes. Some sellers disclose electrical issues, but not all of them do.

I’m not entirely convinced this is worth the hassle honestly. Neon signs are beautiful but they’re not practical. You’d need to keep it plugged in 24/7 or turn it on and off constantly, which wears out the components faster. I’d rather have solid vintage Corvette memorabilia that doesn’t require electricity.

The sign looks authentic to me. How old do you think it is? If it’s from the 1960s or 70s, that definitely adds value. The patina and wear patterns suggest it could be pretty vintage. I’d be interested to know more about the provenance if you end up winning it.

Seriously though, before you bid, get a professional neon restorer to give you an estimate for repairs. Some of these signs might look good in photos but have issues that aren’t visible online. Better to know what you’re getting into upfront.

One thing to consider – where are you going to hang this? You’ll need dedicated electrical outlet nearby, and you’ll want to make sure it’s not in direct sunlight or damp environments. I have mine mounted on an interior wall in a climate-controlled space and it’s been perfect.

Thanks noah51, that maintenance estimate is really helpful. I think I’m still going to bid, but I’ll set my upper limit accordingly. The character and nostalgia of a working neon Corvette sign is worth it to me, even with those ongoing costs.

The condition of this particular sign looks excellent compared to most I’ve seen. If the price stays reasonable, I think michael63 would be getting a solid piece. Just keep those maintenance costs in mind for budgeting purposes.
