Good point about the market shift. But that doesn’t change the fact that Fusions have known issues. The ‘best value’ claim needs more nuance. Best value for price? Maybe. Best value overall? Debatable.
The Fusion is okay but I think you’re overstating its value. I’ve seen too many with transmission issues around 80-90k miles. That’s a deal-breaker for me. I’d rather spend a bit more on a Toyota Camry or Honda Accord that’ll actually last longer.
The maintenance cost aspect is something to consider too. If you break down with certain CEOs, would they know how to handle it? Can they actually fix things or would they just call for roadside assistance? That matters on a real road trip.
Food stop strategy is key too. Would they be adventurous eaters wanting to try local restaurants, or are they the type who only eat at hotel chains? Road trip companions need compatible eating philosophies.
