Derek raises a valid point. Performance optimization is real. However, if the manufacturer explicitly states regular gas is acceptable, then it should be fine. The question is whether the fuel economy and performance are identical or just acceptable.

This is actually a smart move by Google. They’re probably limiting it to major manufacturers first to ensure reliability and accuracy. Rolling out to every vehicle brand would introduce too many variables and errors. Give them time to expand.
