This is really eye-opening. I’ve heard that Hyundai has had some security vulnerabilities that thieves have learned to exploit. Makes you wonder if they’re doing enough to improve their anti-theft systems compared to competitors.
Luna makes a great point. The 2010-2015 Elantras are notorious for weak anti-theft devices. Hyundai has improved since then, but the used market is still vulnerable. That could explain the persistent statistics.
