I’ve worked on cars for 15 years and I always tell people: follow your manufacturer’s recommendation exactly. Don’t overthink it. The engineers designed your engine for a specific oil grade for a reason.
I work on these cars regularly and I have to warn you – rust repair can exceed the actual cost of the vehicle if it’s extensive. Get a professional inspection of the floor pans and quarter panels before committing.
One more thing – always read the lease agreement carefully. The excess wear and tear clauses can be subjective. I’ve heard horror stories of $2000+ charges for normal use.
Completely disagree with leasing. You’re basically throwing money away every month with nothing to show for it. I bought my car 5 years ago and it’s still running great. Much better long-term investment.
