Door handles breaking is infuriating. It’s such a simple mechanism but they fail constantly. Then you’re paying $200+ to replace a door handle. The engineering here is just lazy.
That’s a solid specimen. Check the service history thoroughly. These vehicles respond well to regular oil changes and filter maintenance. The supercharger adds stress to the engine.
This better not be another vaporware announcement. Tesla needs to focus on delivering what they’ve already promised before hyping up new projects. Production delays are still a major issue.
I have to disagree with the restoration talk too. These cars are cheap for a reason. The market has moved on and nostalgia alone won’t make this profitable or even fun. Unless you just want a curiosity piece.
Series I models are the most desirable. The chrome bumpers and original interior make all the difference. Have you had the VIN checked to verify authenticity? Some cars have been misrepresented over the years.
I disagree with the collectible assessment. These trucks are getting rarer, but they’re still work trucks at heart. The value is functional, not investment-based. It’ll never appreciate like a vintage Bronco or Blazer.
That said, if someone has the means and genuinely wants to own and maintain a piece of diesel truck history, this is the specimen to do it with. The 35k miles gives you a clean slate compared to a worn-out example.
