Has anyone looked into what the actual smell is? Is it moldy, chemical, burnt? This matters because it could indicate different problems. If it’s mold-related, that could be a moisture intrusion issue in the cabin. If it’s chemical, could be off-gassing from materials.

This is exactly why I don’t trust cable news anymore. They rush to air without proper verification, and then claim they made an innocent mistake when called out. If this happened at a network news desk, there would be heads rolling.

Beautiful project! I’ve been following 240Z restorations for years. One thing I’d recommend is getting the carburetors professionally cleaned and tuned once the engine is rebuilt. The original Hitachi carbs can be finicky but they run great when properly set up.
