I’m skeptical about these maintenance costs people keep mentioning. My Macan maintenance bill at 30K was nearly $2,500 including fluid changes and inspections. Way more than comparable models.

Hard disagree here. Putting an LS1 in a 1958 Corvette is like putting a modern engine in a vintage instrument. You’re destroying the historical authenticity. These cars should be restored to original specifications, even if it means less daily drivability.

The stretched iX3 makes sense given how popular long wheelbase vehicles are in China. But those door handles? That seems like a detail that could have been standardized. Interesting marketing move though – makes the China model feel more exclusive.

The real question is whether this creates resale issues. An iX3 LWB with exclusive components might be harder to sell outside China. That could limit its appeal long-term. Anyone think this through from a buyer’s perspective?
