One thing people forget: diesel engines have over a century of optimization. Engineers have perfected them. New engine types haven’t had that much time to mature.
Diesel engines are also incredibly reliable. These ships need to maintain schedules. A breakdown means thousands of angry tourists and massive financial losses. You don’t take risks with proven technology.
Disagree with the hype here. The M2 was good but it’s not some legendary car. Overpriced nostalgia if you ask me. There are better performance bargains out there right now.
