I have to disagree with the optimism here. DeLoreans are beautiful conversation pieces, but they’re not practical daily drivers. The market for these is limited to collectors and enthusiasts. Resale value is uncertain.
I work in logistics, and I can tell you that fuel costs are a concern, but we plan our operations around them. A good truck that lasts 10+ years is worth the fuel expenses. If GM is producing quality heavy trucks, there will be buyers.
The fact that GM is willing to increase production in this environment suggests they have confidence in their product and market demand. I’d trust their market analysis over speculation. They’ve got the data.
