Those interior shots are mind-blowing. The attention to detail in the cabin is remarkable. You can tell this is a serious driver’s car, not just a pretty face.
What was the actual threat though? Did Rivian threaten to pull out of Washington entirely? That seems like a bold negotiating tactic but apparently it worked.
I think the precedent matters more than Rivian itself. If Washington allows this, other EV startups will definitely try the same approach. Could we see a two-tier system where EVs are mostly direct sales and gas vehicles stay with dealers?
