I don’t find this funny at all. This represents a fundamental lack of discipline and focus. A president should maintain composure and stick to the agenda, not get distracted by luxury novelties no matter how impressive they are.
Maintenance costs on these BMW vehicles are already crazy. If those special door handles are exclusive to China, it means we’ll have even more trouble finding replacement parts and support globally. That’s a nightmare waiting to happen for owners trying to service their cars.
Absolutely, resale value will take a hit. Plus insurance and warranty complications with exclusive components. BMW really needs to think about the total cost of ownership for buyers, not just the initial purchase.
