I’m concerned about the maintenance costs on these older Land Cruisers. Parts availability might be an issue even with JDM connections. Factor in regular servicing, brake work, and potential suspension issues that plague this generation. Could easily run $3-5k annually for proper upkeep.

I’m concerned about the maintenance costs on this thing. Flat-plane crank engines require more specialized servicing, and Mercedes service centers aren’t cheap. This could end up being an expensive ownership experience compared to competitors like BMW X7 or Range Rover.

Battery technology on cruise ships isn’t realistic yet due to weight constraints. LNG is the most practical alternative to diesel for now. That’s where the industry should focus.

I have to respectfully disagree with some people here. The technology for LNG propulsion is mature enough now. The cruise industry is just dragging its feet because changing is expensive and difficult.
