I owned a 2015 Sandero 1.2 for four years and it was bulletproof. Only regular maintenance needed, very affordable to run. Sold it with 85k miles and no major issues. Best budget car I’ve ever owned, honestly.
The X5 is a solid choice if you can find one with low miles. I test drove three different used PHEVs and the BMW felt the most refined. But yeah, maintenance costs are a real concern I’m still wrestling with.
