I disagree with some of this. My car has 200k miles and the transmission is still going strong. Maybe it’s about proper maintenance and not all cars are created equal? I think the real issue is manufacturer defects, not inherent design flaws.
I have to disagree with the hype here. Project cars are money pits and this Mercedes would be no exception. You’d spend double the purchase price getting it properly restored. Not a smart financial move IMO.
Actually, you know what, I might have been too harsh earlier. If this seller has documentation and the engine runs, maybe it’s not as bad as typical projects. Still risky though.
