The 240Z is legendary but I think you’re underestimating the work involved. These cars have dated safety features and the handling can be sketchy by modern standards. Have you considered modernizing the suspension at all?
This is typical BMW – they always have special editions for China. The door handles are probably a small design tweak to fit their preferences. Not a big deal really, but it shows how different markets drive different design choices.
Following up on my earlier comment – I think this is just BMW testing the market. If the iX3 LWB does well enough, maybe they’ll eventually bring it and those door handles to other regions. It’s a wait-and-see situation.
