That’s a weak excuse honestly. Innovation happens when there’s motivation. If cruise companies had to pay for their carbon emissions, they’d switch to clean fuel overnight.
I disagree with the efficiency argument. Modern LNG engines are actually more efficient and cleaner. The cruise industry just doesn’t want to invest in upgrading their fleets. It’s all about short-term profits.
